There are a variety of factors that can lead to a client’s nails drying out and peeling. It could be a health issue or even products a manicurist uses over time that doesn’t agree with the client’s body chemistry. But no matter what the cause, maintaining healthy nails is just as much an inside job as it is an outside job, and it’s the responsibility of both you and your client to ensure that healthy nails stay healthy.
Keeping natural nails from drying and peeling can be difficult especially if you cannot pinpoint exactly what’s causing the problem, but there are some steps that both you and the client can take to restore dry, brittle, damaged nails. Let’s look at what you can do as a team to keep nails in tiptop shape!
Now that we’ve established what you can do to help prevent or heal dry, brittle nails you should also give your clients some post-service instructions on what they can do at home. As stated, healthy nails is a team effort and the client must also do their part. If you don’t want to go through the trouble of telling every single client what to do, create a sheet that outlines the do’s and don’ts of at-home nail care that include the following items.
And last but not least….make sure your clients continue to keep their regular appointments with you so you can keep an eye on the progress!
