Shearious Questions: I’ve been thinking about taking some business classes to help me run my salon better. Where do I start? Where can I take these? 

Business classes are essential for every entrepreneur. Whether you are a current salon owner, a booth renter, you’re considering opening your own business, or you are an employee of a salon/spa, there are many advantages to taking business courses. Topics you should look into include: finance, accounting, marketing, management, business planning, and business management, just to name a few. All of these skills certainly apply to owning and operating your own business. However, these skills are also essential to being successful in any career.

The great news is if you are considering taking a business course, you have many options from attending a local community college or taking your courses online from the convenience of your own home. We have a ton of online classes for industry professionals that cover everything from finance, leadership & management to sales, and marketing. Some are even eligible for continuing education credits in some states. Another great resource for online courses is Ed2Go. Here you will find hundreds of different online classes that focus on general subjects that can be applied to your day-to-day responsibilities (aka. they're not made specifically for salon and spa professionals but are still helpful!)
