Shearious Questions: Making My Salon Website Mobile-Friendly

Shearious Question: I was told that my website doesn’t work on my client's cell phone. Is it important to fix it? How can I fix it?

There is no question that we live in the digital age, and that means your current customers and potential new customers are using their devices to find and browse your website.  Perhaps they are looking to get your address, doing some research finding a new salon/spa in their area, looking up a service you offer or are trying to book online. Regardless of what they're trying to do, you want to make sure they have a good online experience with your site every time.

I recently read an interesting survey, and it showed that 3 out of 4 smartphone users turn to their mobile device to look for a source for their needs. Let me say that again: 3 out of 4 smartphone users use their phones to search for businesses that address their needs. So where should you begin?

#1:  Confirm that your site is mobile-friendly. Google has a free mobile-friendly test tool to help you see how mobile friendly your website is. Here's the link.

#2:  When in doubt, consult with your web developer. After all, they are the experts.

If you don't have a web developer or in-house tech guru, you need to hire one ASAP. Many sites, like Fiverr, allow you to hire developers for one-off projects just like this. Trust us, this is something you need to invest it. If your website isn’t mobile-friendly, you could be losing business.
