On-Trend Looks For Fall 2017

Soon enough we'll be unpacking our sweaters and helping clients create their fall looks. Here are some of the biggest trends for fall 2017 according to Allure.

Edgy Crops

Bring drama this fall with big chops. From lobs to short crops, clients will be looking for big changes and less length. Be sure to remind clients that less hair doesn't equal less prep time. Walk clients through a few different styling routines before they leave the salon with their new 'do.

Colorblocked Eyes

This fall, be bold with your liner and eyeshadow palettes. Try using two different liners (one on top, one on lower lids) or play with complimentary shadows. No matter what you choose, make sure it's bold. Our suggestion? Choose an afternoon on your slowest day and order in lunch for your team. Spend some time creating short how-to videos where your artists get to practice new looks and share them on your social channels. We're sure you'll get instant love.

Clean Hair

It seems that every year we volley between shampoo-free and shampoo-heavy hair. Just like bombshell curls or care-free bed-head waves, clean hair now has its own texture category. The fresh-washed softness of recently washed hair swept runways this year. While washing your client's hair, walk them through how you're washing, what products you're using, and how they can replicate the process at home.

Imperfect Lip Color

This fall, you'll want to color outside the lines when it comes to client lip-looks. Smudged, liner-free lips bring a taste of reality to otherwise polished looks.

Extreme Nail Art

Long claws, crystals, miniature works of art: the more extreme the nail art, the more popular the look. Expect clients to request over-the-top designs this fall and anticipate the demand by creating a menu of extreme nail art (and stocking up on supplies.) Chains, anyone?
