Timing Your Bridal Client's Beauty Services

Wedding planning can be an exciting and overwhelming job! In addition to the venue, flowers, music, vows, reception, guest list and more, your bridal clients will be worried about looking their best on the big day. It is your job as the beauty professional, whether you specialize in hair, makeup, skincare, or nails, to make sure you get your bride clients on a personal schedule to look amazing on their most special day. Here is a timeline to help with the planning.

  • Six months ahead: The bride should be on a regular skin care regimen at home that includes cleansing, toning, nourishing and SPF with exfoliation twice a week. She should begin a schedule of monthly facials to prime her skin for wedding day photos. If the bride has some hair removal issues, she could consider a series of laser hair removal. It takes a series of treatments to get rid of the hair, so starting six months in advance of the wedding is not too soon.
  • Three months ahead: The bride needs to meet with you to work on hairstyles and a makeup look. Will it be romantic? Elegant? Casual? Classic?  It may take several appointments to find the right hairstyle and makeup look to bring out the bride’s best features. (You can also find some inspiration here.) Quick tip: Have the bride wear an outfit that is the same color as her wedding dress. Once a hairstyle and makeup look are decided, commit yourself to the wedding date.
  • Six weeks ahead: Have the bride in for a test spray tan. This is the time to decide the right tone.
  • Two weeks ahead: Get your bride in for a cut, color and nourishing scalp treatment. Also at two weeks, wax her brows to allow any redness to resolve.
  • One week ahead: Your bride should have her lash extensions filled and have a soothing relaxing facial to de-stress before the big day.
  • Three days ahead: Give the bride her final spray tan so it has time to blend before the wedding.
  • Two days ahead: Manicure and pedicure should be done.

Text your bride the day before her wedding to tell her you’ll be there to support her and make sure she has a magical day! Encourage her to stay hydrated and you’ll see her in the morning. You get the honor of sharing one of the most important days of her life; be sure you celebrate this journey too!
