Nick Arrojo
Nick Arrojo's career began at Vidal Sassoon, Manchester, England. His talent for creative hairstyling was apparent early on, earning Nick the position of Vidal's youngest-ever Creative Director. He eventually moved to the United States,creating a multifaceted, multi-award-winning brand. Over a 30-year career, his work has graced the fashion magazines of the world on countless occasions while, as hairdressing host for seven seasons of TLC's What Not to Wear, Nick became an American household name. His beauty empire includes his NYC studio, a professional product line carried by hundreds of salons across America, and a cosmetology school and advanced academy that are both celebrated for their commitment to excellence, integrity, and raising the profile of the hairdressing craft. It is, however, Nick's pioneering method of modern and creative, precision-<BR />based razor cutting that draws the most acclaim. Taught around the world, his process enables hairstyles with the chic contemporary aesthetic of tapered edges and deconstructed textures. Nick lives in New York City with his wife Lina, and twin sons, Marco and Nico.
Diego Raviglione
With over 23 years of experience as a highly creative artistic hair designer and educator for Redken, Joico and GrahamWebb International, Diego Raviglione exudes an untouchable enthusiasm for the art of hairdressing and inspires the same in all his students. His work has been published in Elle, ElleGirl, Oprah Magazine, InStyle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Allure and Shape. His work has also been included in several key industry trades such as American Salon, launchpad, BehindtheChair and Modern Salon. Raviglione's ingenuity has also been featured on runways during LA FashionWeek and on stage at Lollapalooza where he served as head stylist to featured acts like Jane's Addiction. Diego has recently embarked on a unique educational endeavor as the first Artistic Director for three beauty schools in California. His key goal is to invoke an intensified passion and drive in students by developing an advanced haircutting and styling curriculum that empowers students with the skills and behaviors that will equal success in their career.
Emily Austin
Emily Austin is a stylist with 30 years of experience behind the chair. She has been a National Color Educator for John Paul Systems and owned her own salon in Canton, Ohio. She is now a Senior Stylist at Shanti Salon and Spa in Seattle, WA.
Charlie Price
Charlie Price is one of the most recognizable faces in the North American salon industry. His performances as a popular platform artist and educator are filled with smart soundbites, useful information and quick easy techniques for the salon, all delivered in his fun irreverent style. Charlie has had his photo work published world wide and has collaborated with Haircare manufacturers such as Aveda, Revlon Professional, TIGI, Roux, Rusk and now he is the International Creative Consultant for Scruples Haircare. Price is also known for having won many industry awards. He is a two time NAHA North American Hairstylist of the Year award winner in 2002 and 2008 (the first American to do so), the first ever NAHA People's Choice award winner in 2011 (he has a career total of 23 NAHA nominations) and he was named Canadian Mirror Awards International Hairstylist of the Year in 2007 (a title which he has been nominated for 6 times). Charlie trained under runway hair masters Guido, Serge Normant and Eugene Souleiman in Milan on fashion shows such as Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and miu miu, and in NYC on fashion shows such as DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs. He went on to be lead hairstylist at NY fashion week for designers such as Peter Som, Jeremy Scott, Imitation of Christ, Catherine Malandrino, Matthew Williamson, Cynthia Rowley, Benjamin Cho, Charlotte Ronson and Jason Wu among many others. Charlie also made a memorable appearance as the villain on Shear Genius 2 for Bravo TV which aired in 22 countries.
Robert Thomsen
After graduating from The Orlo School of Hair Design in Albany, NY, and an apprenticeship with a Sassoon and Bumble trained hair cutter at Shapes & Colours Salon and Spa, Robert learned the value of developing a solid technical foundation to become a great hairdresser. His background working in fine dining establishments also taught him that a great customer experience was what kept guests coming back. Now, as a certified Aveda colorist and proficient scissor and razor haircutter, Robert excels at providing impeccable service while partnering color and style to make sure his clients feel spectacular. This talent earned him the award of Capital Region's Best Stylist 2012 in the upstate New York publication Metroland. His passion for education regularly brings him to classes with Aveda, Goldwell and Arrojo to help him continue to elevate his craft.
Sonna Brado
KMS California Hair Care Artistic Director Sonna Brado is the owner of a multiple-award winning salon in Spokane, Washington, and of Brado Education LLC. Among her many other accomplishments, she is a 2006 North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) finalist and a multiple honoree in an industry magazine for their top 200 salons. Her work has been featured in top industry publications. She has been voted Spokane's Best Stylist twice and her salon (a member of the exclusive Intercoiffure) has won "Spokane's Best" for twelve years.
DJ Riggs
DJ Riggs is a beauty industry veteran and 3-time NAHA finalist developing his brand of collaborative cutting, engaging education and comprehensive editorials. His primary focus is the MAINENTRANCE Artists initiative. Both a seasoned educator and on-set editorial stylist, DJ spent 10-years as Creative Director at-large for TIGI and his work has appeared in the pages of W, French Vogue, Nylon and Women's Wear Daily. Riggs has founded the EDIA Cosmetics for Hair label.
Diane Da Costa
Diane Da Costa is a curly textured expert and author of multiple books on how to cut curly hair. With over 25 years in the beauty business, Diane has brought innovative curly styles to the forefront of today's multi-textured hair movement. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Ebony, Essence, French Vogue, InStyle, O Magazine and more. Diane has also worked with celebrities such as Lenny Kravitz, Blair Underwood, S. Epatha Merkerson. She is founder and principal executive of Beautiful Fund, LLC. and held the position of Creative Consultant, Multi-Textured Expert & Educator at MIZANI.
Gea McAnear
Gea McAnear is an artist in the truest sense of the word. Her passion for style and beauty stems from her passion from people and life. For the past 9 years Gea has dedicated herself to being a successful salon professional working behind the chair, building her business and serving her clients.She also has worked with local San Diego fashion designers, styling hair for photo shoots, fashion shows and fundraiser events.
Theodore Leaf
Theodore Leaf has been featured on NBC's 'Fashion Star', E! Network's 'Fashion Police' and Style Networks 'How Do I Look?'. He is also the youngest contestant ever on Bravo Network's 'Shear Genius'. Theodore has produced numerous tutorials available on YouTube which have reached over 1,000,000 views. He is currently based at Sally Hershberger Salon in Los Angeles, CA.
